"Well, why don't you go next door and see what the neighbours are having?"
From right at the start of the book, but one of my favourite lines.
Unlike how I eat my meals I savoured this book and read a chapter a week, or every other week. Before this book I wasn’t necessarily a huge Stanley Tucci fan, although I loved the Searching For Italy series. After this book, well, what a guy - perhaps because I don’t follow him closely this book went places I wasn’t expecting. I’d say he’d be on my fantasy dinner guest list, but I’d be far too stressed cooking for him so he can stay away.
I now really want to see Big Night (and Babette’s Feast), but haven’t been able to convince the family yet.
