The Hour of the Star by Clarice Lispector

I got a very beautiful hardback of this for Christmas. It’s different… it’s only short, but I spent quite a bit waiting for the story to start, before realising it had. I.e. it’s like being slowly immersed into something without you realising it’s happening until you are abruptly brought to at the end.

Reading it again straight away.
