It’s true and it felt like the decline to autumn had started today. I was stood up for miles on the way home as the surface had started softening due to all the recent rain and the head wind was relentless.

If the weather continues to deteriorate I might switch to my winter gearing (I’ll still have to do lots of standing up) at the end of this month, but stay off the winter tyres for as long as I can. I am still giving serious consideration to dropping to a 2:1 ratio for when things get really bad (which is hopefully still months away).
